Kathleen Taylor

Miss Kathy Miss Kathy grew up in Ravenna, Ohio, where she started dancing over 25 years ago. When she moved to Northern Virginia, she continued her training with the Fairfax County Youth Ballet, and she went on to study with Stephanie Young and Adrain Bolton, a noted DC teacher and choreographer. Miss Kathy began dancing at Centreville Dance Academy when she was 16 years old. She went on to become an instructor in 1992, and to become the owner of Centreville Dance Academy over 9 years ago. Miss Kathy holds a BS in biology from George Mason University, where she also completed a minor in dance. Miss Kathy's former students' credits include dancing with the Radio City Rockettes, and several of her students have gone to be dance majors at the university level. She and her husband, Paul, are the proud parents of twin toddlers, Robert and Elena.

I love working closely with children and encouraging them in a behind-the-scenes role. Seeing their confidence grow in dance and in life makes this the best job in the world. I am grateful to all the CDA families who allow me to provide a fun activity for their children while at the same time sharing an art that has enriched my life.

Miss Pam Miss Pam has been teaching at Centreville Dance Academy for 13 years. She is originally from Los Angeles, where she started dancing at age 7. She soon became immersed in LA's regional musical theatre scene, and went on to perform lead roles in Bells Are Ringing and Once Upon a Mattress. In the process of learning to dance, you also learn about life. Dance is not easy - it takes patience, sweat, confidence, pain, and finally trust that if you don't give up, you will be able to achieve your goals. The sense of joy and accomplishment cannot be denied - it is the glue that has held my life together. It is a privilege to give this gift to others.

Dance is more than an art form or discipline. It is a passage way into the human soul, where we can find a joyful expression of life and learn who we are. As a teacher, I enjoy capturing that spirit in my choreography and teaching. I feel I am not only here to teach dance, but to help guide dancers through the journey of life.
