Recital 2009 Information
This year's Recital will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Osbourn Park High School in Manassas, VA (NOT Osbourn High School, also in Manassas). Every attempt will be made to keep children with one or two dances and families with more than one dancer to one Recital day only. Detailed information will be handed out in May that includes rehearsal, arrival, and picture days and times.
Recital 2009 - Performance Information
Costumes
Each student performing in the recital is required to purchase a costume. Costumes range in price from $80 to $95. If your child is in a combo class or back-to-back tap and jazz classes, she will only need one costume for both of her dances. Deposits are refundable through December 31st and are non-refundable thereafter. Once costumes are ordered (January 1st) you are responsible for the balance regardless of your child's participation in the recital. Unless notice is given in writing, the costume will be ordered for your child(ren) and you will be responsible for payment in full.
Tights
A Notice indicating what color tights need to be worn with each costume will also be distributed in April. This Notice will also contain a Tights Order Form which you can use to order tights from The Dance Shoppe. Tights ordered from The Dance Shoppe will be attached to the Recital costume and handed out the week before Pictures.
Pictures
During the week prior to recital (June 16 - June 19), we hold dress rehearsal at the studio, and we offer the option of having your child professionally photographed in her recital costume. Regular classes are not held this week. Instead, each class will come on the same weekday as usual, but at a different time (a schedule will be prepared and distributed in advance). During their scheduled time, each student will practice their dances and have their picture taken. Individual pictures are also taken at this time. Purchasing pictures is completely optional, and all students are invited for a class group shot that will be displayed proudly in our lobby. Order forms will be distributed in May.
Video
Our families are also offered the option of purchasing a professional video of our recital. Order forms will be distributed in May.
Action Photos
The action shots taken during our recent Recital are now available for viewing and purchase on the CDA Photo Gallery (the password is cda, all lower case). Tickets
Recital tickets will be available for purchase in April. We had hoped to be able to use an on-line ticket service this year, but found that in order to give you the level of service you need (i.e. reserved seating, wheelchair accomadations, replacing lost tickets, etc.) the cost of each ticket would be more than double over last year. So, we have decided to return to the mail-in system used last year so we can continue to make sure everyone has a seat for the recital. Detailed information will be provided in March.
