School Year Dance Program 2012-2013
Our School Year Dance Session offers combination and level classes in ballet, creative dance, tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, pointe, and Rhythm Force for students ages 18 months through 18 years of age. Classes begin September 10th, 2012 and end with a recital performance at Osbourne Park High School in the middle of June.
Attendance
Attendance on a regular basis is necessary in order for the student to receive the maximum benefit of dance classes. No tuition adjustments will be made due to absences, extended or otherwise. Please refer to our Calendar for holiday closings. Make-up lessons are available for unavoidable absences (illness, death in the family, etc) and when class cancellations are made by the studio (inclement weather, etc).
Class Scheduling
Students should arrive and be ready for class a few minutes prior to their scheduled class time. Each class will be dismissed 5 minutes prior to the end of each class hour to facilitate a smooth transition between classes. Under no circumstances should a child arrive or be left waiting more than 10 minutes before or after her class. Students arriving to class after their warm-up period may be required to observe that day for their own safety.
Classroom Behavior
For the safety of our students, no gum is allowed in any of our classes. No eating is allowed during classes as well. If you must eat before class, please do so in the lobby and discard any trash in the outside trash cans.
Inclement Weather
We follow Fairfax County Public School's closings and delays regarding inclement weather conditions, with the exception of closings due to extreme heat. Make-up lessons will be available for such cancellations. If Fairfax County cancels school for the day, after-school activities, or weekend activities, then CDA will be closed as well. If Fairfax County closes school early, CDA will be closed for that evening. If Fairfax County delays school openings for 1 or 2 hours, CDA will hold classes on time, unless otherwise posted on the website. If you have questions please call the office after 9:30am.
Withdrawing From Classes
You can withdraw from any class at any time. To officially withdraw from class, a parent needs to let us know in writing and sign a withdrawal form. Registration fees are non-refundable. Please note we will continue to bill your account until you officially withdraw from the class. Costume deposits can be refunded until the last day of classes before winter break.
